Lur tribes, one of the oldest nomads, live in the west of Iran and on the slopes of the Zagros Mountains in the middle of townspeople and other tribes in a vast expanse that includes parts of Fars, Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad, Isfahan, Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari, Arak, and Lorestan provinces either in tents or resettled, with all their ethnicity. Weaving methods and designs of carpets in different ethnic groups of Lurs are, by and large, the same in all of these areas, and their carpets are often woven thick and colored using natural dyes. Weaving Khersak or Gabbe is a feature of the carpet weaving of Lorestan nomads, often woven in small sizes. The Warps and wefts of these carpets are from the mixture of sheep and goat wool and knots of the carpets, according to the traditions of weaving in different ethnic groups, are of Persian and Turkish types. The colors of the carpets of this area are reddish-brown, dark blue, beige, and pale goldenrod. Lur weavers, based on local traditions, like some parts of western and northwestern Iran, rooted their carpets closed and attached and some also tidy the edges of their carpet knotted with their nomadic tastes, which is not without grace.

The traditions existing among the Lurs are reminders of their woven history, for example, a small wooden tool (Sak) they use for weaving carpets, in fact, is the mother of a metal tool in the bronze period and belongs to the period in which all the tools were wooden. That is, before the discovery of metal. These are the evidence of exceptional age of Lurish woven history and can help them recognize their ancient and independent traditions of techniques, materials, tools, and even designs.
